There are two styles of hot water storage cylinder's: Vented and Unvented cylinder's.

Vented cylinder's require a feed and expansion tank, whist an Unvented cylinder's operate just like ordinary domestic cylinder, but do not require a feed or expansion tank in the house. The water is then heated either by electricity or by a boiler.
